Venice in one day. A boat tour for day tripper in Venice

A 4 hour guided tour including Venice’ s highlights - Saint Mark’s Square and Rialto bridge - followed by an off the beaten track walk and Murano island, with a visit to an artistic glass furnace. We will take a private water boat to tour the splendid Grand Canal and other minor canals.

What are the highlights of Venice? Step aboard our private boat and we’ll show you the city’s finest sights. Starting from St. Mark’s Square we’ll take you off the beaten path down the minor canals for a ride along the Grand Canal. That’s our Venice tour for day trippers!

We’ll then whisk you off to the island of Murano where you’ll be taken behind the scenes at a world famous glass studio. This tour can be adapted for those visiting the city for the day as well as visitors residing in the city for longer periods of time. It usually lasts around four hours.

Join us for this thrilling four hour tour intended to show you Venice’s most famed features.

Let’s start from Saint Mark square, the former political and religious centre which encompasses  the most important buildings in town: the Library, the Doge’s Palace, the Procurators Offices, and the Church of Saint Mark. Inside, your attention will be captivated by the 8400 square meters of mosaics that cover the entire vaults. All along your guide will explain you how they were made and outline some of the key stories depicted in miniscule glass tiles.

Next, we’ll  board your private boat to start the most beautiful ‘cruise’ in Venice, a ride through the Grand Canal, inner canals, and main water areas. As the boat glides along, your guide will point out some of the most impressive palaces and tell you about the wealthy merchant families who once lived there.

Crossing the ‘open waters’ of the northern lagoon we will reach the island of Murano to enter a glass blowing workshop and watch the masters who transform sand and oxides into the most beautiful art: from a shapeless hot glass paste to a beautiful sculpture, all in front of your eyes.

It’s now time to get back to Venice but our tour for day trippers is not over yet. Getting off the boat, we will start a walk through the less touristy areas of the city, where neighbourhood life still dominates. Get to know Venice’s unique urban landscape made of narrow alleyways, small open campos and canals and let your guide underline all the details worth your attention. You’ll learn the basic facts of the city in terms of architecture, building techniques, urban structure, daily life and much more.
